Vernon Gettone

Since 1997, Vernon Gettone Jr. has been the head tennis professional at the Broken Sound Club in Boca Raton, FL.

He was previously employed at the Rick Macci Tennis Academy in Pompano Beach, FL for three years and spent two summers as the assistant tennis professional at the Wintergreen Resort in Wintergreen, VA.

Vernon has also worked as a computer drafter at an architectural firm.

He played tennis in college at the University of Florida and went on to compete in satellite tournaments for two years.

Vernon says he became a tennis pro in 1993 because he “truly enjoyed the gratification of teaching and the results of teaching.” Twenty years later, his love of tennis and teaching has only flourished. Vernon's area of expertise is running ladies teams, but has honed his skills in every aspect of the tennis business including private lessons, group lessons, court maintenance, tennis programming, events, staff development, merchandizing, and  marketing.  He is looking forward to the next phase of his career in which he aspires to be a facility director.
